Music provides us with moments of great enlightenment. The musical experience brings us closer to the aesthetic principles of transcendence and sublimity. It gives us the sensitivity to understand and see concepts as tremendous and mysterious as love and elevates them to the sublime.
The intellectual contemplation of eternity transcends our human nature. This experience can occur through simple sensory assimilation or rational understanding.
In music, there is a divine purpose. God created music for the praise and glory of himself. That is the primary purpose and reason of music. All the other uses of music are just add-ons.
Initially, God put the music in the hands only of the celestial beings. At the beginning of the principles, before humanity, the Earth and the universe existed, because the angels praised God in the heights and he rejoiced in that praise.
"Praise the Lord from heaven; praise him in the highest. Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all the armies of him. "
Psalms 148: 1-2
Music is a bridge
Music can make you feel closer to God because He created music to be praised. The Book of Psalms is the most famous book in the Bible because it contains 150 chapters, focusing mainly on God's praise and worship.
Its composers, including the most prominent King David, perform prayers through songs. They express gratitude, exaltation, and glorification towards God and laments towards Him for fears, pains, and disappointments.
Furthermore, they cry out for his help, wisdom and confess the assurance of his salvation. Ultimately, each psalm does not simply reveal the heart of the composer but also the heart of the Spirit of God that inspired the composition. This book is considered the first hymnal within the church.
Remember to praise God with all of your heart, and music is a bridge to connect to your Father.
